Last week was spent cruising through the never-ending pines of Northwest Oregon. I dipped my toes in the Pacific ocean, sampled sushi, and scoured the forest for any sign of Bigfoot.

It was the perfect trip for my heartbroken little family. This week we lost my sweet grandpa, Sterlin Hollingshead. As we wandered, we were able to process our grief and refocus on all that really matters in life…family.

In my day to day travels, I sometimes get distracted and forget this crucial concept. I don’t really feel like writing much on this topic because I’m still without words in a lot of ways… So thank you to everyone who reached out in any way. Your love is felt.

The PNW is one of my favorite places on earth! When I was 10 years old, my parents and I took a road trip down the Oregon Coast. It was fun on this trip to reminisce about the calamities and the memories that were made over a decade ago.

For the past year, my parents have been planning to go to Portland for a friend’s wedding this October. A couple days before their departure, I was complaining to my mom about some flight miles that I had that were going to expire at the end of the year… She invited me to join her and my dad in Portland. Within a couple days, I was on a plane, Oregon bound!

I of course had to re-read Twilight on this trip (because it took place in the Pacific Northwest)!
10 years ago when we visited this area for the first time we spent a night at the Columbia Gorge Hotel. To commemorate, we decided to dine there for lunch. The food was UHHHHmazing!
Someday I will walk the Pacific Crest Trail in its entirety. Just you wait and see.
Cannon Beach is good for the soul.
Okay folks, I tried both Voo Doo Doughnut and Blue Star… And I have to say, I think Blue Star takes the cake! (or the doughnut, I guess).
Powell Bookstore is the largest in the world! It takes up an entire city block… Needless to say, I was in heaven.
My sweet mom is a ‘stop and smell the hydrangeas kind of person.’ I love that about her.

I’m happiest whenever I’m in pursuit of an adventure.
If you made it this far, thanks for reading about the trip!
Love my pa! He gets better at the selfie every time.

My red hot momma and I found a squach!

As always, thanks for following along and for supporting me! I love you all!
